I love this Abraham Lincoln quote: "Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally."
Interestingly enough, Lincoln shares a birthday (even same year) with another person who has shaped the development of Western culture, Charles Darwin. Hmmm...

Didn't Lincoln have slaves??? Just wondering... Wouldn't that just add a soap opera twist to his quote?
